Why forgiving.golf exists

Most pages about forgiving golf clubs are one person's list. The things that actually decide forgiveness, the class, the offset, the sole, the loft, the shaft flexes and what happens on a mishit, are scattered across dozens of maker pages and dozens of reviews, and the price sits somewhere else again.

Find the pick for a slice, a slow swing, a first season or a smaller budget, with the lofts, flexes, hands and prices you need to choose.

The site covers the clubs a forgiveness shopper is choosing between: game improvement and super game improvement irons, the highest-inertia driver, fairway and hybrid in each maker's line, mallet and zero-torque putters, and complete boxed sets for beginners, seniors and women.

How we work

Every pick follows one written rule. First, fit to the need: the most draw help for a slice, loft and softer shafts for a slow swing, the highest score overall. Then, on a tie, the club more golfers can buy, sold left-handed or in a senior or ladies flex. Last, the lower price. A pick for a golfer who has not said who is playing is never chosen by age or gender.

The forgiveness score is our 1-to-5 reading of what each maker publishes about the head: its class, offset, sole and loft. It is not a hitting test, and no one here claims to have hit the clubs.

Shop commissions do not buy recommendations or placement.

Golf terms are explained the first time they appear on a page: offset, sole width, moment of inertia, loft and shaft flex are all defined in plain words on the page that uses them and again in the glossary.

When a fact changes, the record changes and the date beside it moves with it. A price we cannot read again stays on the page with the day we last checked it, so you can judge it yourself.

Who writes it, and who pays for it

Forgiving Golf publishes forgiving.golf as an independent comparison site. No club maker, shop or fitter owns or operates it.

The site is funded by affiliate links: when we join a shop's affiliate program, links to that shop may earn a commission on a purchase, at no extra cost to the buyer. The affiliate disclosure page lists which programs, if any, are active today and how their links are marked.

There is no advertising on the site and there are no sponsored placements. Nobody can pay to be included, scored differently, moved up a table or described differently.

The affiliate disclosure names every shop link that can earn this site a commission.

Getting a number changed

If a specification, price, shaft or hand option is wrong, use the contact form or write to [email protected] with the club and the maker's or shop's page that shows the right value. We correct it in the next update and date the change.

Makers and shops can use the same address and the same standard. A public page is the evidence we act on; a private note tells us where to look but cannot replace a page a reader can inspect.
