TaylorMade Spider ZT Max vs Odyssey Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square MAX putter
Choose the Spider if you want the heavier head and aim along lines.
Choose the Odyssey if framing the ball helps you aim, or you like a softer insert.
Spider ZT Max $449.99 · Ai-DUAL Square 2 Square MAX 1/2 Ball Center Shaft $299.99, each with its shop and checked date
Both are zero-torque mallets with the shaft in the middle of the head, so the face rests toe-up and wants to stay square through the stroke; both come in 33, 34 and 35 inches and in either hand. The Spider ZT Max is TaylorMade's high-MOI Spider: steel and tungsten weights in the four corners of an aluminium body, a 379-gram head, and lines milled the width of a ball on the top line. The Odyssey has a lighter 365-gram head, a soft urethane insert over a firmer layer, and an alignment aid that frames half a ball at address; Odyssey calls it the most stable putter in its line.
