Callaway Elyte X hybrid

Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

The most forgiving of Callaway's 2025 Elyte hybrids: a slightly oversized head with a semi-draw flight, in five lofts from 18° to 31°, and a 13-gram tungsten and a 3-gram aluminium weight that swap between heel and toe to set a neutral or a draw flight. Callaway's own store still sold it new in July 2026, and the Quantum Max OS replaced it.

Choose it if

  • You are replacing long irons you struggle to get airborne.
  • You slice: the head has a slight draw bias built in.
  • You play left-handed: it was made left-handed in the 3, 4 and 5 hybrids (18°, 21° and 25°).
  • You need a softer shaft: it came in R2 (Light), the flex Callaway's buying guide calls senior.

What changed in the Quantum Max OS

Both are Callaway's oversized, draw-leaning hybrid, the most forgiving in their line, and both are left-handed in the 3 to 5 hybrids only. The Quantum Max OS keeps the 18° 3 hybrid, makes the 4 to 7 hybrids one to three degrees stronger (20°, 23°, 26° and 29° against 21°, 25°, 29° and 31°) and adds a 32° 8 hybrid; each club is an eighth of an inch longer, with a lie seven-eighths of a degree more upright (1½° at the 7 hybrid). It replaces the Ai 10x face with Callaway's newer Ai-designed face, and adds a stepped sole that Callaway says cuts turf contact and Speed Wave 2.0, which sets weight low and forward.

Callaway was still selling the Elyte X new in July 2026, and used ones cost far less than a new Quantum Max OS. It suits a golfer who wants Callaway's most forgiving hybrid, with weights that switch it between a neutral and a draw flight, for less; choose the Quantum Max OS for a new club, an 8 hybrid, or the stepped sole.
