Callaway Paradym X driver

Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

Callaway's 2023 driver for golfers seeking, in its words, extreme forgiveness and a slight draw bias: a high-MOI head stretched at address, the highest launch of the Paradym drivers and a 5-gram weight at the back. Callaway no longer sells the Paradym X new, and the Quantum Max D is the current model in its line.

  • Your misses come off all over the face.
  • You slice: the head has a slight draw bias built in.
  • You play left-handed: it was made left-handed.
  • You need a softer shaft: it came in Light, the flex Callaway's buying guide calls senior.

What changed in the Quantum Max D

Both are Callaway's draw-biased head for the most forgiveness, 460cc, in 9°, 10.5° and 12° and both hands, at 45.75 inches. The Paradym X sets a 5-gram weight at the back of a carbon crown and sole around a forged titanium face cup, and Callaway rated its launch the highest of the three Paradym drivers. The Quantum Max D moves its weight inside the heel for its slight draw, and in place of the face cup it has Callaway's Tri-Force face, layers of titanium, polymer mesh and carbon fibre that Callaway says keep the ball speed up on off-centre hits.

Callaway no longer sells the Paradym X new, and used it costs a fraction of a new Quantum Max D. Choose it for Callaway's high-launching 2023 head on a budget; choose the Quantum Max D for a new club and the newer face.
