What changed from the G430 MAX
Both are 460cc heads in 9°, 10.5° and 12° with the same eight-position hosel. The G440 MAX moves to a 29-gram back weight (25 grams on the G430 MAX), a carbon-wrapped crown and a lighter hosel, a hotter face with a lower face height, a 46-inch standard length (45 3/4 inches on the G430 MAX) and a lighter stock shaft, the ALTA CB Blue 50. PING calls the G440 MAX the most forgiving G440 model; in the G430 range it gave that place to the MAX 10K.
PING still lists the G430 MAX while stock lasts, and it costs less new than the G440 MAX and less again used. Choose the G440 MAX for the newer face, the longer standard length and the heavier movable weight.
