Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

Callaway's draw fairway wood of 2022, rated highest for forgiveness on its chart and the highest-launching of its Rogue ST fairways: a slightly closed face, a more upright lie and extra weight in the heel for a draw, up to 27 grams of tungsten set low and forward, and three lofts, a 16° 3-wood, a 19° 5-wood and a 22° 7-wood. Callaway's own store still sold it new in June 2026, and the Quantum Max D is the current model in its line.

Choose it if

  • You fight a slice and want the most draw help and the highest launch of Callaway's 2022 fairway woods.
  • You play left-handed: it was made left-handed in the 3- and 5-woods (16° and 19°).
  • You need a softer shaft: it came in Light, the flex Callaway's buying guide calls senior.

Choose something else if

  • For a higher loft, or a left-handed 7-wood, the Rogue ST MAX, with less draw bias, goes up to a 27° 11-wood, with a 20° Heavenwood and a 24° 9-wood, and is sold left-handed in the 7-wood too.

What changed in the Quantum Max D

Both are Callaway's draw fairway woods, rated highest for forgiveness on its charts, with extra weight in the heel. The Quantum Max D keeps the Rogue ST MAX D's lies and lengths in the 3-, 5- and 7-woods and the left-handed 3- and 5-woods, but its lofts are stronger: a 15° 3-wood against 16°, an 18° 5-wood against 19° and a 21.5° 7-wood against 22°. It adds a 16.5° 3HL, the nearest loft to the old 3-wood's 16°. Its heads are larger (a 190cc 3-wood against 180cc, a 165cc 7-wood against 140cc), it swaps the tungsten cartridge of up to 27 grams for Speed Wave 2.0, up to 40 grams low and forward, and it adds a stepped sole that Callaway says cuts turf contact. Callaway sold the Rogue ST MAX D for "a powerful draw" and calls the Quantum Max D's draw bias slight.

Callaway still sold the Rogue ST MAX D new in June 2026, on sale, and used ones cost well under half the price of a new Quantum Max D. Choose it for the stronger draw Callaway built it for, on a budget; choose the Quantum Max D for the larger heads, the stepped sole, the 16.5° 3HL or a new club.
