Titleist T100 irons

Players, 1.0 of 5 for forgiveness

Titleist's tour iron: a compact forged head with a thin topline, minimal offset and a 33° 7-iron. Titleist says it puts precision and control before forgiveness, and no set we score forgives less. Less help than Titleist's T150 (2.0 of 5): choose the T150 if you want more help on a mishit.

Choose it if

  • You find the middle of the face nearly every time and want control from a compact head.
  • You play left-handed: it is sold left-handed.

Choose something else if

  • You need a senior flex: PING G740, senior (A) flex in stock, 5.0 of 5.
  • For more help on a mishit, Titleist's T350 is its most forgiving iron, and the T250 sits between the two.

What changed from the T100 (2021)

Titleist kept every lie and length of the 2021 T100 in today's T100 and made each loft a degree stronger, from a 21° 3-iron and a 50° W to 20° and 49°, with a 33° 7-iron against 34°. Both are fully forged, with tungsten in the heel and toe and a thin topline. Today's T100 adds split tungsten weighting, a face of varying thickness and a muscle channel in the 3- and 4-irons for a higher launch. Titleist calls the offset of both minimal and prints no figure.

Used 2021 sets cost far less than a new T100. Choose the 2021 T100 for the same lies and lengths, a degree weaker in every loft, for much less, if a used set comes in your hand and flex; choose today's T100 for a new set built to your shaft and flex, with the higher-launching long irons.

As Titleist publishes them

4-iron 23° 61.5° 38.5 in
5-iron 26° 62° 38 in

9-iron 41° 64° 36 in
P 45° 64° 35.75 in
W 49° 64° 35.5 in

After the gap wedge (W, 49°): with a 56° sand wedge, the gap is 7°, just over the 4° to 6° step; a wedge in between would leave two steps under 4°.

Callaway's iron fitting guide puts your first wedge 4° to 6° above the highest-lofted wedge in your iron set. A gap in degrees is not a gap in yards. To choose that wedge, see the forgiving wedges by loft and bounce.

Use the iron finder to compare sets for your usual miss, and check the set makeup and loft gaps before ordering.

How the 1.0 adds up

The forgiveness score is our reading of what Titleist publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.

The parts of the forgiveness score
PartPointsWhy
Head class 1 Players: a compact head built for control, the least forgiving class of iron we score.
Offset +0 Titleist doesn't publish a 7-iron offset, so offset earns no point.
Sole +0 Titleist describes the sole ("improved Variable Bounce Sole") but not as wide.
Forgiveness score1.0of 5

The score rates the head only. Hand, flex and price decide which version you buy, not how forgiving it is. Titleist does not publish a 7-iron offset.
