Cobra DS-ADAPT MAX fairway wood

Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

Cobra's most forgiving fairway wood of 2025, with a weight pad set back and towards the heel for a draw, weights that move between the back and the heel to tune it, and a hosel with 33 loft and lie settings, in four lofts from 15.5° to 24.5°. Cobra's own store no longer showed it on 16 Oct 2026, and the OPTM MAX replaced it.

What changed in the OPTM MAX

The two heads share their lofts (15.5° to 24.5°), lengths and standard lies, the 33-setting FutureFit33 hosel, and weights that move between the back and the heel to tune a draw. The OPTM MAX's heads are 2 to 5cc larger (182cc against 177cc in the 3-wood); where the DS-ADAPT MAX added an internal weight pad in the back and heel, Cobra says the OPTM MAX's shaping and weighting cut twisting on off-centre hits. The stock shaft changes from True Temper's Denali Red 50 to MCA's Kai'li Dark Waves Red 50, in the same flexes: stiff, regular and senior in the 3- and 5-woods, regular and senior in the 7- and 9-woods. Cobra stocked the DS-ADAPT MAX left-handed only as a regular-flex 3-wood; the OPTM MAX comes left-handed in the 3-, 5- and 7-woods.

Golf Discount still sells the DS-ADAPT MAX new for about half the OPTM MAX's price, but on 16 Oct only as a right-handed 3-wood in regular or stiff flex; used ones cost less again. It suits a golfer who wants Cobra's most forgiving, draw-tuned fairway wood for little money; choose the OPTM MAX for a new club in another loft, flex or hand.
