What changed in the G440 MAX

PING followed the G410 Plus with the G425 MAX in 2021, then the G430 MAX and the G440 MAX. Both come in 9°, 10.5° and 12°, with a tungsten back weight that sets to draw, neutral or fade and an eight-position hosel. The G440 MAX is a larger head (460cc against 455cc), with a carbon crown, a hotter, thinner face and a 46-inch standard length against 45¾. PING calls the G440 MAX the most forgiving G440 model, so it scores 4.0 here; it named no forgiveness class for the G410 Plus, so that scores 3.0.

PING no longer takes new orders for the G410 Plus, and used ones cost a fraction of a new G440 MAX. Choose a used G410 Plus for an adjustable PING head with a draw setting for little money; choose the G440 MAX for the larger, more forgiving head and the newer face.
