PING G430 SFT fairway wood

Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

PING's draw fairway wood of 2023, a larger head than the G430 MAX with its weight placed for a right-to-left flight, in 16°, 19° and 22°. Carl's Golfland still sold it new on 16 Oct 2026, as a left-handed 3-wood only, and the G440 SFT replaced it.

What changed in the G440 SFT

Both are PING's draw fairway wood for a slice, in the same 16°, 19° and 22° lofts, at the same lengths (43, 42.5 and 42 in) and average lies, with the same loft adjustment (1.5° either way, and the lie up to 3° flatter) and an HL build for slower swings. The G440 SFT's heads are larger (193cc, 185cc and 174cc against 188cc, 178cc and 166cc), its face is taller, and a lighter hosel PING calls the Free Hosel joins the carbon-wrapped crown to lower the centre of gravity. Its stock shaft is the ALTA CB Blue 65, where the G430 SFT has the ALTA CB Black 65, and Project X Denali Red and Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black replace the HZRDUS Smoke Red RDX and Kai'li White options.

Carl's Golfland still sells the G430 SFT new, but on 16 Oct only as a left-handed 3-wood; used ones in other lofts and flexes cost less. It suits a golfer whose fairway woods miss right (a right-hander's slice) and who wants PING's draw head for less; choose the G440 SFT for a new club in the loft, flex and hand you want, or the larger head and taller face.
