What changed in the Qi4D Max Rescue
Both are TaylorMade's most forgiving hybrid of their year, at the same lengths and lies from the 3 to the 7 hybrid, left-handed in the 3 to 5 hybrids only, with no loft sleeve. The Qi4D Max keeps the 20° and 23° lofts and makes the 5, 6 and 7 hybrids a degree stronger (26°, 30° and 34° against 27°, 31° and 35°); its head is 3cc smaller in each loft (106cc against 109cc). TaylorMade places the Qi4D Max's centre of gravity towards the back, which it says adds stability and launch, adds an 8-gram weight that tunes the flight, and swaps the Fujikura AirSpeeder shaft for the KBS REAX HL 50, both in stiff, regular and senior flex.
Golf Discount still sells the Qi35 Max Rescue new for less than a Qi4D Max, but on 16 Oct only as a right-handed 3 hybrid in regular flex; used ones in other lofts and flexes cost less again. It suits a golfer who wants TaylorMade's most forgiving hybrid for less; choose the Qi4D Max for a new club in any loft, flex or hand, or for the weight towards the back.

How the 4.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what TaylorMade publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head | 4 | A maximum-forgiveness hybrid head, the most forgiving kind TaylorMade made. |
| Forgiveness score | 4.0 | of 5 |
Draw help, lofts, flex and hand don't change the score. They decide which version fits you, and the picks for a slice or a slow swing use them.
