Cobra DS-ADAPT hybrid
Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5
Cobra's 2025 hybrid, the only one in its DS-ADAPT range, in five lofts from 17° to 28°: an 8-gram weight as low in the sole as Cobra could set it for a high flight, a larger forged face insert, and a hosel with 33 loft and lie settings. Cobra still sells the DS-ADAPT new, and the OPTM replaced it.

What changed in the OPTM
From the 3 to the 6 hybrid the two heads share their lengths and standard lies, the KBS PGH shafts in stiff, regular and senior flex, and the 33-setting hosel. The OPTM drops the 17° 2 hybrid and makes the 3 hybrid a degree stronger (18° against 19°). Where the DS-ADAPT set an 8-gram weight low in the sole and a second weight low and forward to cut spin, the OPTM has a fixed weight low and back, which Cobra says raises the MOI and the launch and brings the ball down more steeply. Cobra calls the OPTM's shape slightly larger, though its table gives each loft 1 to 2 cc less volume.
Cobra still sells the DS-ADAPT hybrid new for a little over half the OPTM's price, but on 16 Oct only two builds were in stock: a right-handed 4 hybrid in senior flex and a left-handed 3 hybrid in stiff. It suits a golfer who wants one of those, or a used one, for little money; choose the OPTM for any other loft, flex or hand new, or for the weight Cobra moved back to raise the MOI.

How the 4.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what Cobra publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head | 4 | A maximum-forgiveness hybrid head, the most forgiving kind Cobra made. |
| Forgiveness score | 4.0 | of 5 |
Draw help, lofts, flex and hand don't change the score. They decide which version fits you, and the picks for a slice or a slow swing use them.
