PING G410 hybrid

Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5

PING's G410 hybrid of 2019, its first with an adjustable hosel, in five lofts from 17° to 30°, with a deeper tungsten back weight that PING says creates extreme perimeter weighting to maximise forgiveness in a larger head. PING no longer sells the G410 new; the G425 followed it, and the G440 is the newest model in its line.

What changed in the G440

The 2, 5 and 6 hybrid lofts, the lengths and the lies are the same. The G440 makes the 3 and 4 hybrids a degree weaker (20° and 23° against 19° and 22°) so they launch higher, adds a 34° 7 hybrid, and gives the 5, 6 and 7 hybrids a slight draw bias, where the G410 page describes none. It adds a carbon-wrapped crown, where the G410's head was stainless steel, and an HL build with a lighter shaft for slower swings, which the G410 never had.

PING no longer takes new orders for the G410 hybrid, and used ones cost a fraction of a new G440. It suits a golfer who wants PING's tungsten-weighted, adjustable hybrid for the least money; choose the G440 for a new club, a 7 hybrid, the slight draw in the higher lofts, or the HL build for a slower swing.
