TaylorMade SIM Max driver

Driver, 3.0 of 5 for forgiveness

TaylorMade's 2020 Max driver: a 460cc head with its weight set at the far back of an asymmetric sole shaped to cut drag, sold on "speed and forgiveness", in 9°, 10.5° or 12°. TaylorMade's page showed it out of stock in September 2025; the SIM2 Max followed it, and the Qi4D Max is the newest model in its line.

What changed in the Qi4D Max

Both are TaylorMade's Max head, 460cc, in 9°, 10.5° and 12°, at a 45.75-inch standard length. The SIM Max sets a fixed weight at the far back of an asymmetric sole shaped to cut drag, behind a Twist Face injected with resin to tune its speed; its 12° came right-handed only, and TaylorMade gave it no forgiveness class. The Qi4D Max has two weights you can swap (13 and 4 grams), a 60X carbon Twist Face and an aluminium collar, sells the 12° left-handed as well, and TaylorMade sells it for maximum forgiveness.

We found no shop selling the SIM Max new, and used ones cost a fraction of a new Qi4D Max. Choose a used SIM Max for a TaylorMade Max head for little money; choose the Qi4D Max for the movable weights, the newer face, a left-handed 12° or the most forgiving head TaylorMade makes.
