What changed in the Hot Launch Max D

Both are Tour Edge's offset, heel-weighted driver for slower swings, in 10.5°, 12° and 15°. The Max D is half an inch longer (45 inches against 44.5). Its Aldila Ascent shaft weighs 55 to 59 grams in A, R and S flex, where the E523's UST Mamiya HL-SST weighed 55 to 65 grams and also came in extra stiff, and it has a V-taper sole where the E523 had Tour Edge's Houdini sole.

Tour Edge no longer sells the E523, and used ones cost well under a new Max D. Choose it to pay less for an offset driver, or if you need an extra-stiff shaft, which the Max D does not come in; choose the Max D for a new club built to your flex and length.

Draw help, lofts, flex and hand don't change the score. They decide which version fits you, and the picks for a slice or a slow swing use them.
