Choose the MAX if you often miss the middle, slice, or want a higher flight from a slower swing.

Cobra's two DS-ADAPT irons share the hollow body and face insert; the MAX is the DS-ADAPT made for maximum forgiveness, with a larger head, a thicker topline, a wider sole, a longer blade, more offset (5.1 mm at the 7-iron against 3.2 mm) and a lighter build. Its lofts are two degrees weaker from the 4- to the 9-iron (a 29° 7-iron against 27°) for an easier launch. Cobra's chart puts the DS-ADAPT at handicaps of 15 to 25 and the MAX at 20 and over, and we score them 3 and 4.5 of 5. Left-handers get the regular steel set of either; the DS-ADAPT's stiff steel set is right-handed only. Cobra's KING MAX irons replaced both.
Cobra's 2025 super game improvement iron: the DS-ADAPT made larger, with a wider sole, a thicker topline, 5.1 mm of offset and 2° weaker lofts (a 29° 7-iron).

The DS-ADAPT followed the DARKSPEED as Cobra's game improvement iron, and Cobra's tables give the two the same lengths, lies and offsets club for club (3.2 mm at the 7-iron).
