Choose the ZXiR if thin and toe strikes cost you distance.
Choose the ZXi4 if you find the middle of the face most of the time and want the smaller head.
ZXiR $1,099.98 · ZXi4 $1,399.93, each with its shop and checked date
The ZXiR is the forgiving one: a game improvement cavity back that Srixon's own chart rates highest for forgiveness, a step below only its super game improvement ZXiR HL, with 3.5 mm of offset at the 7-iron against 3.2 mm. The ZXi4 is a compact players' distance iron with a hollow head and a forged feel, which the same chart rates high: more forgiving than a blade but less than the ZXiR. The two 7-irons share the same loft, lie and length (28.5°, 62° and 37.25 inches); the difference is at the top of the set, where the ZXiR's 4-iron is 19.5° and three-quarters of an inch longer, against 21°. Both come left- or right-handed on KBS Tour Lite steel or graphite, in senior, regular or stiff flex.
The HL is Srixon's first super game improvement iron: lofts about four degrees weaker (a 32.5° 7-iron against 28.5°) and more offset (4.2 mm against 3.5 mm), tuned to help a slower swing launch the ball higher and stop it sooner.
