Choose the P7MB if you want a pure blade for shaping shots.
Choose the P7MC for a touch more help with the same lofts, or the P7CB that replaced it for a new set.
TaylorMade launched the two together, and they share every loft, lie and length (a 34° 7-iron and a 47° PW), KBS Tour shafts in stiff or extra stiff, and both hands. The P7MC is the slightly more forgiving: TaylorMade made it a muscle cavity with perimeter weighting and "a hint of forgiveness", with a little more offset (2.1 mm at the 7-iron against 1.6 mm), while the P7MB is its muscle-back blade, with the mass directly behind the face. TaylorMade rates the P7MB low for forgiveness, and both score 1 of 5 here, the lowest score we give. TaylorMade still sells the P7MB new; it replaced the P7MC with the P7CB, so a P7MC is bought used.
TaylorMade's forged blade for the best ball strikers: 1.6 mm of offset at the 7-iron, a short blade with a narrow sole, and a 34° 7-iron. TaylorMade's own chart rates its forgiveness low, a step below the P7CB.
TaylorMade's forged cavity back of 2023, before the P7CB: minimal offset (2.1 mm at the 7-iron), perimeter weighting and a 34° 7-iron. TaylorMade built it for the best ball strikers with "a hint of forgiveness", and no set we score forgives less.
