TaylorMade P7MB irons
Players, 1.0 of 5 for forgiveness
TaylorMade's forged blade for the best ball strikers: 1.6 mm of offset at the 7-iron, a short blade with a narrow sole, and a 34° 7-iron. Choose it if
- You find the middle of the face nearly every time and want control from a compact head.
- You play left-handed: it is sold left-handed.
Choose something else if
- You need a senior flex: PING G740, senior (A) flex in stock, 5.0 of 5.
- For a little more help on a mishit, the P7CB keeps the compact look with a cavity behind the face, and TaylorMade's combo guide puts P7CB long irons with P7MB short irons.

Mixing P7MB and P7CB irons
TaylorMade's combo guide mixes the two sets three ways (its levels 3 and 4 are the same mix), with the more forgiving P7CB in the long irons and the P7MB in the rest: from the P7CB 3- and 4-iron at level 1 to P7CB irons down to the 6-iron at level 4. Every mix keeps the P7MB's own lofts, from 20° to 47°. Where a mix would leave an uneven loft gap, TaylorMade bends a club stronger or weaker. The lofts below are its stock lofts with those bends.
| Level | P7CB | P7MB | Lofts, 3-iron down |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 3- and 4-iron | 5-iron to PW | 20° · 23° · 26° · 30° · 34° · 38° · 42.5° · 47° All at stock lofts |

How the 1.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what TaylorMade publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head class | 1 | Players: a compact head built for control, the least forgiving class of iron we score. |
| Offset | +0 | 1.6 mm at the 7-iron, below our 4.5 mm mark. |
| Sole | +0 | TaylorMade doesn't publish a sole width, so the sole earns no point. |
| Forgiveness score | 1.0 | of 5 |
The score rates the head only. Hand, flex and price decide which version you buy, not how forgiving it is. TaylorMade does not publish a sole width.
