Head to head

TaylorMade P7MC vs P7CB irons

Choose a used P7MC for the same shape with slightly weaker lofts.

Choose the P7CB for a new set, the wider sole or a regular flex.

The P7CB replaced the P7MC among TaylorMade's players irons, and both score 1 of 5 here, the lowest score we give. Both are forged by TaylorMade's Compact Grain Forging with perimeter weighting; the P7CB adds a co-forged tungsten weight, and National Club Golfer found its sole 2 mm wider. TaylorMade rates the P7CB low-mid for forgiveness and prints no offset for it; the P7MC has 2.1 mm at the 7-iron. Every lie and length is the same, and so are the 3- to 5-irons; from the 6-iron down the P7CB is a degree stronger, a degree and a half at the 9-iron (a 33° 7-iron against 34°), and it adds a 51° AW, right-handed only. The P7MC came in stiff or extra stiff, the P7CB also in regular.

    TaylorMade P7MC (2023)

TaylorMade's forged cavity back of 2023, before the P7CB: minimal offset (2.1 mm at the 7-iron), perimeter weighting and a 34° 7-iron. TaylorMade built it for the best ball strikers with "a hint of forgiveness", and no set we score forgives less.
