Choose the SIM2 Max if off-centre strikes cost you most or you want a 12°.
Choose the SIM2 if you strike it well and want the lower launch TaylorMade built it for.
The SIM2 Max is the more forgiving: TaylorMade rated it, with the Max D, highest for forgiveness and the SIM2 high, and set more weight at the back, a 24-gram tungsten weight against the SIM2's 16 grams of steel. The Max launches higher (mid, against low) and comes in 12°; the SIM2 comes in 9° and 10.5°, plus an 8° that is right-handed only. Both are 460cc with a carbon sole held by a milled aluminium ring, a Twist Face and a slot in the sole behind the face, at 45.75 inches.
TaylorMade's all-round driver of 2021, rated high for forgiveness on its chart, a step below the SIM2 Max, with a 16-gram steel weight at the back of the sole and a low launch, in 8°, 9° or 10.5°.
