Choose it if
- Your swing is slower than most and the ball needs to climb higher: the lofts are higher and the shafts are 40 g graphite.
- You want a higher flight: the 31° 7-iron is weaker than most.
- You need a softer shaft: it came in Light, the flex Callaway's buying guide calls senior.
- You want to spend less: $771.98 is in the cheapest third of the 43 we price.
Choose something else if
- You play left-handed: PING G740, sold left-handed, 5.0 of 5.

What changed in the Quantum Max Fast
Both are Callaway's light, right-handed iron for slower swings, sold with graphite shafts only. The Quantum Max Fast's lofts are 3° stronger from the 5-iron to the 8-iron (a 28° 7-iron against 31°), it has more offset in every club (4.67 mm at the 7-iron against 3.4 mm), and it replaces the deep cavity back with a two-piece undercut cavity and the Dynamic Sole with a three-part Tri-Sole. The Elyte Max Fast came between them in 2025.
PGA TOUR Superstore still had a new six-club Ai Smoke MAX Fast set on 12 Oct, and used sets cost less again. Choose it for its higher lofts and a light set for less; choose the Quantum Max Fast for more offset and a new set from Callaway.

How the 3.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what Callaway publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head class | 3 | Game improvement: a forgiving head, slimmer than super game improvement. |
| Offset | +0 | 3.4 mm at the 7-iron, below our 4.5 mm mark. |
| Sole | +0 | Callaway doesn't publish a sole width, so the sole earns no point. |
| Forgiveness score | 3.0 | of 5 |
The score rates the head only. Hand, flex and price decide which version you buy, not how forgiving it is. Callaway does not publish a sole width.
