Callaway Paradym driver

Game improvement, 3.0 of 5 for forgiveness

Callaway's 2023 all-round driver, which it called its best combination of distance, forgiveness and adjustability: a carbon body and a 15-gram weight that slides along the back to correct the shot's shape, in 9°, 10.5° or 12°. Callaway's own store showed the Paradym sold out by June 2026; the Paradym Ai Smoke MAX followed it, and the Quantum Max is the newest model in its line.

Choose it if

  • You want some help on mishits, short of the maker's most forgiving head.
  • You play left-handed: it was made left-handed.
  • You need a softer shaft: it came in Light, the flex Callaway's buying guide calls senior.
  • You want to spend less: $399.98 is in the cheapest third of the 28 we price.

What changed in the Quantum Max

Both are Callaway's adjustable 460cc driver of their year, in 9°, 10.5° and 12° and both hands, 45.75 inches long with a 57° lie. The Paradym slides a 15-gram weight along the back of a carbon crown and sole, around a forged titanium face cup. The Quantum Max moves a 10-gram weight between neutral and draw settings and has Callaway's Tri-Force face of titanium, polymer mesh and carbon fibre, which Callaway says holds speed on off-centre hits. The Ai Smoke MAX and the Elyte came between them.

PGA TOUR Superstore still sells the Paradym new for well under a Quantum Max's price, and used ones cost less again. Choose it for Callaway's 2023 adjustable head for less; choose the Quantum Max for the newer face and a draw setting on its weight.

How the 3.0 adds up

The forgiveness score is our reading of what Callaway publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
