PING G410 SFT driver

Driver, 3.0 of 5 for forgiveness

PING's slice driver of 2019: a weight fixed on the heel side of the head, with 50% more heel-side centre of gravity than the G400 by PING's figure, on a 10.5° head. PING no longer sells the G410 SFT new; the G425 SFT followed it, and the G440 SFT is the newest model in its line.

What changed in the G440 SFT

PING followed the G410 SFT with the G425 SFT in 2021, then the G430 SFT and the G440 SFT. Both are PING's slice drivers, with the same eight-position hosel (loft 1.5° either way, the lie up to 3° flatter). The G410 SFT's weight is fixed on the heel side of a 455cc head, in 10.5° only. The G440 SFT's 23-gram weight moves between Draw and Draw+, about 13 and 20 yards of draw by PING's figures, so you can take some of the correction out; it adds a 9° head, a carbon-wrapped crown, a lighter hosel and an HL build for slower swings.

PING no longer takes new orders for the G410 SFT, and used ones cost less than a new G440 SFT. It suits a golfer whose drives miss right (a right-hander's slice) and who wants PING's draw head for little money; choose the G440 SFT for a 9° head, a weight you can set to less draw, or the HL build.
