Choose it if

  • You want an all-round fairway wood with some help on mishits, short of TaylorMade's most forgiving head.
  • You play left-handed: it was made left-handed in the 3-, 5- and 7-woods (15°, 18° and 21°).
  • You need a softer shaft: it came in a stock senior flex.

What changed in the Qi4D

The Qi4D, two generations on (the Qi35 came between), keeps the Qi10's 15° 3-wood, 16.5° 3HL, 18° 5-wood, 21° 7-wood and 24° 9-wood and their lengths. Its heads are smaller (185cc in the 3-wood against 195cc), and it adds a 4° loft sleeve in every loft, so loft and lie can be changed where the Qi10 has one lie per loft, an 8-gram movable weight, and a ladies flex. On TaylorMade's chart the Qi4D sits a step below the Qi4D Max for forgiveness, as the Qi10 sat below the Qi10 Max, its line's easiest fairway to hit.

TaylorMade no longer sells the Qi10, so it is bought used, for much less than a new Qi4D; the Qi35 between them is still sold new, for less than the Qi4D. Choose a used Qi10 for the bigger head at the lowest price; choose the Qi4D for the loft sleeve, the movable weight or a ladies flex.
