Head to head

TaylorMade P790 vs Titleist T200 (2023) irons

Choose the P790 for a new boxed set or a senior flex.

Choose the T200 for the same kind of help for less.

Both are players distance irons, the class between a game improvement iron and a players' iron, and both score 2 of 5 here because neither maker publishes an offset or a sole width. Each has a forged face with a filling behind it: SpeedFoam Air in the P790, a polymer core in the T200's hollow body. Their lofts are within a degree of each other: a 30° 7-iron against 30.5°, and a 44° pitching wedge against 43°. The T200 is the older head: Titleist replaced it with the T250 in 2025, though its certified store still sells new 2023 sets, and used sets are common. Buying used, the T200's rival of its own year is the 2023 P790: today's P790 lies and lengths, with lofts up to a degree weaker. The P790 comes new as a set of seven in senior to extra stiff flex; the T200 was sold by the club, in regular or stiff. For more help on a mishit than either gives, Titleist's T350 and TaylorMade's Qi irons are the forgiving heads.
