Cobra RADSPEED driver
Driver, 3.0 of 5 for forgiveness
Cobra's lowest-spinning driver of 2021, for handicaps of 0 to 15: a traditional 460cc head with 28 grams in the front and 10 in the back, including a 12-gram and a 2-gram weight you can swap, in 9° or 10.5°; Cobra kept its forgiveness word for the RADSPEED XB. Cobra no longer sells the RADSPEED new; the LTDx, AEROJET, DARKSPEED X and DS-ADAPT X followed it, and the OPTM X is the newest model in its line.

Choose it if
- You strike it well and want a low-spinning Cobra head, with weights to tune it, for little money.
- You need a left-handed club or a senior flex: both were stock builds.
Choose something else if
- If off-centre strikes cost you most, choose the RADSPEED XB, which Cobra called the longest and most forgiving of its three RADSPEED heads.

What changed in the OPTM X
Both are Cobra's low-spin, traditionally shaped 460cc head, in 9° and 10.5°. The RADSPEED, rated ultra-low for spin and lowest for launch on Cobra's 2021 chart, sets 28 grams forward and 10 back, with a 12-gram and a 2-gram weight you can swap, and has an eight-setting loft sleeve; it is a quarter-inch shorter as standard, 45.25 inches against 45.50. The OPTM X has two adjustable weights (11 and 3 grams) for a neutral or fade-biased flight and a FutureFit33 hosel with 33 loft and lie settings. Cobra names no forgiveness rating in words for either.
No shop we checked sells the RADSPEED new, and used ones cost a fraction of a new OPTM X. Choose the RADSPEED for a low-spin Cobra head for the least money; choose the OPTM X for a new head and its far wider range of hosel settings.

How the 3.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what Cobra publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head | 3 | A driver head Cobra named no forgiveness class for. |
| Forgiveness score | 3.0 | of 5 |
Draw help, lofts, flex and hand don't change the score. They decide which version fits you, and the picks for a slice or a slow swing use them.
