Srixon's forged players distance iron of the ZX Mk II family, for low to mid handicaps: 3.2 mm of offset, a 17.6 mm sole at the 7-iron and a 31° 7-iron. Srixon no longer sells the ZX5 Mk II new; the ZXi5 followed it, and the ZXi4 we cover is the hollow distance iron of the same family.

Choose it if
- You strike it well and want distance with a little help.
- You want a higher flight: the 31° 7-iron is weaker than most.
- You need a left-handed club or a senior flex: both were stock builds.
Choose something else if
- If you often catch it thin or heavy, look at Srixon's ZXiR, the game improvement iron of today's family, which Srixon rates high for forgiveness.

What changed in the ZXi4
The ZXi5 that followed it keeps a 31° 7-iron and 3.2 mm of offset at the 7-iron; we do not cover it. The ZXi4 we cover is the family's hollow distance iron: 2.5° stronger at the 7-iron (28.5°), with the same 3.2 mm of offset, in a hollow head Srixon says gives more forgiveness in a compact shape. In the ZX Mk II family, Srixon rated the ZX5's forgiveness mid to high and the ZX4's high; our score reads only the class, offset and sole, and gives both 2.0.
Srixon no longer sells the ZX5 Mk II new. Choose a used one if you strike your irons well and want a forged cavity back; choose the ZXi4 for a new hollow-headed set with stronger lofts, or Srixon's ZXiR if you often catch it thin or heavy.

How the 2.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what Srixon publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head class | 2 | Players distance: a compact head that forgives a little. |
| Offset | +0 | 3.2 mm at the 7-iron, below our 4.5 mm mark. |
| Sole | +0 | Srixon describes the sole ("17.6 mm across at the 7-iron") but not as wide. |
| Forgiveness score | 2.0 | of 5 |
The score rates the head only. Hand, flex and price decide which version you buy, not how forgiving it is.
