PING G430 MAX 10K driver
Maximum forgiveness, 4.0 of 5
PING's straightest, most forgiving driver before the G440 K: a fixed 28-gram back weight set low and deep in PING's largest head shape took it past 10,000 g-cm² of combined MOI. In 9°, 10.5° or 12°. PING still sells the G430 MAX 10K new, and the G440 K replaced it.

What changed in the G440 K
Each is the straightest, most forgiving head of its PING range: 460cc in 9°, 10.5° and 12°, with the same eight-position hosel and a 58.5° lie. The G430 MAX 10K's back weight is fixed; the G440 K's moves between neutral, draw and fade. The G440 K adds carbon to the sole as well as the crown, a lighter hosel and a face with two roll radii, and a 46-inch standard length (45.75 inches on the 10K). PING calls the G440 K's MOI a record for a PING driver, which puts it above the 10K's, but publishes no figure for it.
PING still lists the G430 MAX 10K while stock lasts, and it costs less new than the G440 K and less again used; this page shows both prices. Choose it for PING's high-MOI head for less if you do not need a draw setting; choose the G440 K for the draw or fade setting, or the newer face.

How the 4.0 adds up
The forgiveness score is our reading of what PING publishes about the head, from 1 to 5. It is not a test result. How every score works.
| Part | Points | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Head | 4 | A maximum-forgiveness driver head, the most forgiving kind PING made. |
| Forgiveness score | 4.0 | of 5 |
Draw help, lofts, flex and hand don't change the score. They decide which version fits you, and the picks for a slice or a slow swing use them.
