Both were their maker's most forgiving driver head, built round a combined moment of inertia of 10,000: PING says the G430 MAX 10K passed 10,000 g-cm², and Cobra says the DS-ADAPT MAX-K reached a combined 10,000 without saying how the figure is made up. Both have a fixed weight low in the back (28 grams on the PING; Cobra prints no weight), come in 9°, 10.5° and 12° in either hand and from senior flex to extra stiff, and score 4 of 5 here. Cobra's hosel has 33 loft and lie settings, two degrees either way; PING's eight settings move the loft 1.5° either way. The PING is a quarter of an inch longer as standard, 45.75 inches against 45.50, and also comes in a lighter HL build. Both have been replaced, by Cobra's OPTM MAX-K and PING's G440 K.

The G430 MAX 10K is built for stability above all: a fixed back weight set low and deep and PING's largest head shape took it past 10,000 g-cm² of combined MOI, and PING called it the straightest, most forgiving driver it had made.
Both are 460cc G430 heads in 9°, 10.5° and 12° and both hands, with the same eight-position hosel that moves the loft up to 1.5° either way, and PING still lists both while stock lasts.
Each was Cobra's most forgiving driver head in its year: a 460cc head in 9°, 10.5° and 12°, 45.5 inches long, with a fixed weight low in the back and the same FutureFit33 hosel, 33 loft and lie settings up to two degrees either way.
The DS-ADAPT MAX-K is the more forgiving: Cobra designed it to be its most forgiving driver head, rated it extreme for forgiveness against the X's high, and gives it a combined 10,000 MOI, with a fixed weight low in the back of an oversized shape.
