Head to head

TaylorMade Qi vs Qi Max irons

Choose the Qi for the same rated forgiveness for less, new while shops have it or used.

Choose the Qi Max for the newer face and the reduced-offset hosel.

Qi $899.99Qi Max $1,099.99, each with its shop and checked date

The Qi Max replaced the Qi, and TaylorMade's own chart rates both High for forgiveness; both score 3 of 5 here. By TaylorMade's tables they share the 28° 7-iron, every lie and every length; the Qi Max's 8-iron is half a degree weaker, its pitching wedge half a degree stronger and its lob wedge a degree stronger. TaylorMade gives the Qi Max a reduced-offset hosel (3.9 mm at the 7-iron; the Qi's US page prints no offset), a face that flexes evenly across its whole area and a larger ECHO Damper.
